cobblestone streets of Cusco and Machu Picchu, across the altiplano to Lake Titicaca,
and finally to the dramatic Colca Canyon near Arequipa. Along the way you’ll experience
Peruvian cuisine, rich living cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and iconic
archaeological sites.
From the Pacific coast to the high Andes and deep canyons, discover the very best of
Peru in one carefully crafted itinerary.
On arrival in Lima, we’ll meet you at the airport and transfer you to
your hotel in Miraflores, the city’s modern, seaside district. Use the rest of the day
to rest from your flight or walk along the clifftop parks overlooking the Pacific.
Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up and drive to Lima’s colonial center.
Visit the historic buildings around the Plaza Mayor, the
Archbishop’s Palace, and the Casa de Aliaga, one of
the oldest colonial mansions in the Americas.
In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco.
Upon arrival, a TreXperience representative will welcome you and drive you to your
hotel in Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire, surrounded by the Andes.
This morning, begin your Cusco city tour at the
Plaza de Armas. Visit the Cathedral, admire its exquisite chapels and
paintings from the Cusco School, then continue to the famous 12-angled stone
and Loreto Street.
Explore the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), whose walls were once
covered in gold, and then walk through San Pedro Market to
experience local flavors, aromas, and traditional products.
At around 08:00, depart Cusco for a guided tour of the Sacred Valley.
Your first stop is the Cotahuasi Animal Sanctuary, where you can see
pumas, condors, llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos up close.
Continue to Pisac to visit its impressive archaeological site and
colorful handicraft market. Then drive along the Sacred Valley to
Ollantaytambo, the “Last Living Inca Town”, with its original
streets, water channels, and fortress ruins. In the evening, take the train to
Aguas Calientes for dinner and overnight.
Wake up early for the highlight of your TreXperience: Machu Picchu.
Take one of the first buses up from Aguas Calientes (around 05:30) to arrive as the
sky brightens and the mist lifts over the ruins.
Your guide will lead a 2–3-hour comprehensive tour of the citadel,
explaining its temples, plazas, terraces, and hidden corners. After the tour, you’ll
have time to explore on your own or, if pre-booked, climb Huayna Picchu
or Machu Picchu Mountain.
Later, take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch, then board the train and
connecting bus back to Cusco. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel.
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive for about 3 hours to a native
community where you’ll have breakfast. From there, begin your ascent toward
Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain) at over 5,000 m (16,466 ft).
The hike takes approximately 3 hours uphill, with time at the summit to enjoy and
photograph the colorful striped mountain and surrounding peaks. Afterward, descend to
your lunch spot and later drive back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel around 18:00.
Depart Cusco early in the morning on a comfortable tourist bus bound for
Puno, enjoying spectacular Andean scenery along the way. En route,
visit Andahuaylillas Church (often called the “Sistine Chapel of the
Andes”), the Raqchi temple, and archaeological sites such as
Pucapucara / Pukara.
Arrive in Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest
navigable lake and South America’s largest freshwater lake. Check in to your hotel for
the night.
After breakfast, embark on a full-day boat excursion on Lake Titicaca.
Visit the fascinating Uros Floating Islands, built from layers of
totora reeds, and meet the local residents who preserve ancient traditions and ways of
life.
You’ll have time to walk on the islands, learn how they are constructed, and interact
with the community. Return to Puno in the afternoon and enjoy free time to explore the
city on your own.
Around 06:00, depart Puno and travel by road toward the Colca Canyon
region. On the way, you’ll cross high mountain passes and altiplano landscapes with
herds of alpacas and llamas.
Arrive in the Colca Valley and relax for the evening—often with the chance to visit
nearby thermal baths (subject to time and availability).
After breakfast, head toward the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest
canyons in the world. Visit viewpoints such as Cruz del Cóndor (or
similar), where you may watch Andean condors gliding on the morning thermals.
Enjoy the incredible scenery of the Colca Valley, dotted with terraced fields and
traditional villages. In the afternoon, continue your journey toward
Arequipa, where you’ll spend your final night in Peru or near the
city (depending on the exact program).
At the appropriate time, transfer to Arequipa airport for your flight
to Lima and onward connection. This marks the end of your Best of Peru journey—or the
beginning of the next chapter if you choose to extend your stay.

Most days involve gentle walking and sightseeing, but there are two more demanding

is recommended, and you should be comfortable walking for a few hours at a time.
Yes, Cusco, Puno, and Colca Canyon are at high altitudes. The itinerary gradually
introduces altitude, but you may still feel some effects (shortness of breath, mild
headache). Staying hydrated, avoiding heavy meals and alcohol at first, and resting
when needed can help. If you have heart or lung conditions, consult your doctor before
traveling.
The package includes the domestic flight from Lima to Cusco. The
international flights and the flight from Arequipa to Lima
at the end of the tour are not included and must be booked separately.
Accommodation is in comfortable 3-star (Hotel***) properties in each
destination, based on double occupancy. We choose safe, clean, and well-located
hotels. Higher-category hotels can be arranged on request for an additional cost.
Yes. You can add Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain
for an extra fee (around USD $75 per person). Both hikes require separate permits and
must be booked well in advance as spaces are limited.
Group size is usually moderate to ensure a more personal experience. For larger
groups, a second guide is included from 8+ participants. If you
prefer a private departure just for your party, let us know for a tailored quote.
We follow local and national health protocols, including temperature checks when
required, use of masks in public areas according to regulations, hand sanitizer
available at all times, regular sanitizing of vehicles and high-touch surfaces,
smaller group sizes, reduced capacity in transport and sites when needed, and 100%
online payments with flexible booking policies during the COVID-19 era.

options. For last-minute bookings, contact us to check current availability.
