Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – City Tour (Half Day)

We will pick you up from the Cusco airport and transfer you to your hotel in the city center, where you will check in and have time to relax (we recommend arriving in the morning). Your tour guide will meet you at 1:30 pm and take you to explore Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire, surrounded by the Andes.

Visit the Plaza de Armas, the most important streets and neighborhoods, the famous 12-angled stone street, Loreto Street, and Koricancha. Then drive to the upper part of the city to visit Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. We return to Cusco at approximately 5:30 pm.

Day 2: Sacred Valley – Maras, Moray & Aguas Calientes (Full Day)

At 8:00 am, you will be collected from your hotel and driven to the Awanacancha Alpaca Center, where we learn about the differences between llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos. Next, we travel to the Taray viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, then continue to Pisaq to explore and bargain in the indigenous market.

We continue through the Sacred Valley to Urubamba for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit the circular terraces of Moray to learn about ancient agricultural techniques, then Maras and the Salineras (salt ponds), where locals have harvested salt since Inca times. Finally, drive to Ollantaytambo, “the Last Living Inca Town,” to explore its remarkable architecture before boarding the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) for the night.

Day 3: Machu Picchu – Cusco (Full Day)

After an early breakfast, we go straight to the bus station to board one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu, arriving before the main crowds to enjoy the sunrise when the weather allows.

Your tour guide will lead a 2–3 hour comprehensive guided tour, showing you the best terraces, temples, and palaces. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore on your own or climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (tickets must be booked well in advance).

Your guide will explain how to take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included), and later you will board the panoramic train and continue by bus back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:30 pm.
